Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College junior Emma Landroche (Warwick, RI) was named a Distinguished Student-Athlete Award by the Rhode Island Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (RIAIAW) for her performance in women’s track & field. Landroche received the award at a reception hosted by the University of Rhode Island on Monday evening.
Landroche has appeared in a pair of NCAA Div. III National Championships already in her career, representing RIC in the 4x100m relay at the 2018 NCAA Div. III Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship and competing in the long jump at the 2019 NCAA Div. III Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship.
As a sophomore, she earned All-American honors as part of the 4x100m relay team that notched a runner-up finish with a school-record time of 46.82 at the National Championship.
She had a 10th place finish in the long jump (5.47m) at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championship this past winter. Landroche has earned multiple All-Little East/N.E. Alliance honors during her career and was recently named the 2019 Little East Conference Field Athlete of the Year.
