Middletown, Conn.—Junior defensive specialist Samantha Borges (Swansea, MA) registered nine digs to lead the Rhode Island College women's volleyball team in a 3-0 (25-4, 25-12, 25-10) loss at No. 16 Wesleyan on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Freshman middle hitter Angelly Polanco (Providence, RI) had two kills and nine total attacks. Junior outside hitter Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, MA) had three kills and three digs.
• Sophomore left side hitter Ashley Normandin (Blackstone, MA) and senior middle hitter Jessica Brielmaier (West Greenwich, RI) each had two kills. Senior setter Jacqueline Jutras (Foster, RI) had nine assists.
• Freshman Bella Ahern led the Cardinals with eight kills. Harper Graves and Mia Jago each totaled seven kills and Mia Hogan added six, in one set, with a team-high .750 hitting percentage. Freshman Sarah Brown led the team in assists with 11, and totaled two service aces, and Olivia Guidotti led the team in digs (10) and aces (3).

• RIC hit -0.061 (10-15-79), while Wesleyan hit .451 (42-7-83).
